Yes Allan I think so too, and perhaps they need other conditions to germinate unlike lithops.

Temperature and light are the crucial factors for germination and growth of Lithops.

The conditions for Lithops should be the same for Dinteranthus vanzylii, I don't think Dinteranthus need higher temperatuters, like cacti do, but someone may tell me different?

Allan I haven't much experience, but I report you what told me a couple of italian good growers:
- The first said that I had to put the seed packets in a very warm place in the greenhouse before sowing and expect a very hot time to sow.
- The second growers (from Southern Sicily) has shown me a pair of boxes with sowing born that year from a previous year's sowing season during which nothing was born...but I don't know where and in what conditions has kept the boxes from year to year.
