Hello,

I would like to know which formula did you use for your Lithops (NPK formula)

Thanks for your answer.

7/17/35/3 The last one being MgO. Also all micro elements are included. Keep in mind that growing on bimskies mean that there is no soil delivering any elements at all.

A very low dosage (30% of advice) 3 times a year. Young plants slightly more. My experience is that when you want flowering plants you must let them grow.

Hello Marc, I use 8-34-32 twice a year maximum and if I have repotted they get no extra feed.
Seedlings get 2 extra feeds of 24-8-16 at 20% dilution.

I tend not to fertilize my lithops, but I have read that people use dilute tomato fertiliser, I wonder if this is correct, I must go and read the side of the bottle as I suspect my seedlings might benefit from some but have never been sure of the correct one to use.

what you need is a fertilizer with low nitrogen (that the first mentioned), high phosphorus and potassium (the second and third mentioned). It looks like 4/40/45 or something like that. I can agree that most tomato fertiliser is adequate at low dosage (30% of proposed values). Check for the figures though.

Hello, (i come back from hollydays)

Thanks fir your answers :) Very interresting.

As Lithops are plants they are alive and as all alive specie they need some foods !!! It's always funy for me to hear "this plant don't need food"... As i heard with orchid at the beginning... To grow plants needs some nutriments as us ! I remember some pic of korean lithops gorwer where we can see small peebles of fertilizer (as Osmocote here in france) and all my Korean or japan friends use fertilizer...

In the same time there's something i don't anderstand. Why it's important to give them low N ?

I found in a garden center a chemical fertilizer for Orange or lemon tress with a low N ratio : NPK 8-16-42. Do you think it's a good one for Lithops ? ok the K level is very high...

Actually i use : Kakteen haagen fertilizer : 6-12-6 + micronutrients and all is ok.

I read that tomatoes fertilizer was a good one. But each time, when i sheck the ratio NPK i'm very surprised by the N leve, always high... MAybe in FRance is not the same chemical mix...
