Lithops hybrid with nice pattern

Postby MALACHIT » Wed Jun 03, 2015 7:18 pm

at a nursery I found this plant among some hundred others. They seemed to be hybrids of 'Malachite', 'Fullergreen', with some parts of natural colors and L. hallii.
Very, very colorful and nice to look at, but a big mess.

It resembles Lithops salicola ‘Daikangyoku’ a little bit, but also has some differences. The color is more green (I think it´s intermediate color), the netting is not so fine and it has islands.

I like it very much, but I didn't find a second one. Maybe I go back there and look at the small seedlings with a lens to find a mate.

Viele Grüße aus Berlin,

Very Nice Jurgen, you have a very good nursery near you. If you knew for certain what 1 of the parents were, you could wait until it flowered and back cross it with that. Sow that seed, then select the best from the resultant seedlings. Then do it all again. Good long term project.
