I think it's worth showing this pictures.
The 3-headed plant is the mother. Because it's of uncertain origin, I decided not to qualify them as Sato's violet.

I bought a couple of salicola "bacchus" on ebay, they did not look pure to me, I am fairly sure there are the result of a cross with some form of julii. Pretty all the same.

Purchases on eBay are always tricky in quality, unless you know the seller, hence can trust him/her.

I purchased a plant from Terry Smale, a very well thought of grower who lives in the U.K in October and his was labelled "bacchus" so I am happy to call mine the same.

I think the problem is that people cross the flowers with anything in flower in the greenhouse and end up with all sorts of slight variations and still call them the cultivar name. All lovely plants but not quite the same as the original. I have about 20 1 year old seedlings coming on in the greenhouse that all look very similar to the official look of the plant so hopefully in a few years time I will be able to obtain seeds.

That is correct :) I was lucky enough to hear him talk about conophytum recently. And an added bonus was the tray of plants he had brought along to sell :) 8-)
