Re: Grow lights

The advantage is that with artificial lights you can maximize the growth of Lithops in the first 2-3 months to insure they get to a diameter of 0.5 to 1 cm. Also you can avoid the attack from pests since you can keep the growing area inside the house. You can produce light for 14 hours a day constan...

They are in their early 30's... did they start at 10? I take any statement by Steve Hammer with a grain of salt. :D

Re: Mesa Garden or Oz Lithops

The new owners of Mesa Garden worked for Steven Brack, before they bought the business. Yes, they did, but as high school students in the summer. It's a different story if a person is on staff and has responsibilities about preparing orders and delivering them. However it's good to hear from Brom th...

MG is still in a transitional period from Steve Brack to the Morerods who inherited an archaic web-based system. I also think they are overall inexperienced in the seeds business. Re: When things get hot

I tend to believe that, once you transplant a Lithops, the plant needs over a year to get used to its new pot. I bought a fair few Lithops from growers in colder locations. Only the second change in leaves produced a significant (~60%) multiplication of plants.

The results are great! You can't expect all seeds to germinate at the same time, even if this should happen most of the time.

Happy New Year

Another year has quickly passed. I was happy with the results from my adult Lithops. I had a number of seedlings crossing the 16 months age. All the very best to all my fellow Lithops growers. I hope 2018 will bring more successful growing!
